Alex Hotel – New Artisan Perth Boutique Hotel
Recently launched, the Alex Hotel sets a new precedent in boutique hotels within Perth. This is thanks to the vision of the owners to the design teams consisting of Architect Michael Patroni for Space Agency and interiors by Sydney designers Arent & Pyke.
Kristen Hawes, Practice Manager, at Arent & Pyke talked to us about the brief and design drivers for this project.
“The interior brief was to establish a ‘Hotel as Home’, a place to find freedom, solace, respite and comfort that is tailored to the individual.
We sought to create spaces with a personality that resonates with the guest, their inner self and feed their appetite for both privacy and interaction”.
From escapism, rest to rejuvenation Arent & Pyke set about producing spaces and places within the hotel that are of contrast, which guests could retreat to depending on their mood from dark to light, warm to cold, open to closed.
The design team curated a collection of furniture pieces, bespoke joinery, objects and art that celebrate craftsmanship.
The personalised touches from service, experiences within the spaces to the produce and products the Alex offers have all been considered and designed to create a lasting impression.
A must experience and a must tell for all lovers of design.
